In this piece I think it tells the story of a large group of people that are tsking a day off to relax at the beach and the women is being held by a group of men. I like this piece because it is simple and the artist took the time to draw more then 3 people lying on towels at a beach.
In this piece tells me that people are just having fun at the beach. When I learned about it, it made more since. My guide told my group that the people thought it was disrespectful. I think it is just art that speaks out many different ways.
I don't like this piece of artwork because I find it creepy, and in a way, insulting. The artist decided to make all of the people bulky, which bothers me. Truthfully, I'm not sure why it is creepy. I stopped at this piece of art because it caught my eye since it is so different from the rest.
In this piece, I see a roller coaster in the very back of the painting. I also see more triangles and slanted arms/legs, which show movement. Two consistent colors included in this artwork are blue and gray.
I looked at the art work and I saw every single hair on the people's body. The artist most likely made each hair with black felt pen. I see a group of people on the New York shore having a fun time. Like Alexis I don't like it, but I do not know why.
I find this piece rather unnerving, because how the artist chose to depict all of the people as either extremely bulky and rather (if I may) mishappen, or extremely thin. But the artist may have been trying to do this, because it is a very lighthearted piece and it seems as if the people are just having fun, not caring about anything. It is almost like the artist was feeling just how the people are, not caring that the people he is depicting are strange-looking, just wanting to have a fun time painting.
In this picture, the story I see is it's a day off of school and work and it's a nice day out so everyone goes to the beach. I don't like this picture because I don't like how it looks and it makes me feel uncomfortable. I stopped and looked at this picture because it has happy people in it but a gloomy back ground.
This artist used a lot of DETAIL. In a way, I think he may have used to much detail. I see a very crowded beach full of people that differ in size and weight. There is a roller coaster in the back of the peice that reminds me of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. I think that this piece is both disturbing and hilarious.
